We are pleased to announce that Rowanmoor (part of the Embark Group) has had their AKG financial strength rating upgraded by two grades to ‘B’, which means their overall financial strength is now ‘Strong’. This demonstrates our commitment and continued investment in the Rowanmoor pension business.
AKG’s ratings are designed to help advisers assess the financial strength of the providers they work with, through independently verified analysis that extends way beyond the evaluation of financial solvency. AKG considers a raft of factors including company structure, financial data, assets under administration, distribution, product information and service.
How do we stack up?
To put Rowanmoor’s rating in context, more than 190 providers and platforms have been rated by AKG. Just five score ‘A’ and these are large, listed companies such as Standard Life and Aviva. Rowanmoor is one of the only private businesses rated in the ‘B’ category, along with its sister companies within the Embark Group.
What does this mean for financial advisers and their clients?
AKG’s financial strength ratings are designed to help financial advisers to assess the relative strength of the providers they work with. As you would expect, financial strength begins with the fundamental issue of a company’s ability to meet its guaranteed payments to policyholders. AKG’s rating also factors in the degree to which a policyholder’s expectations are likely to be met - or even exceeded - in the long-term.
As a Strong B rated business, Rowanmoor products will be made more widely available on provider panels. Financial advisers, and their clients, can also take comfort that Rowanmoor’s financial strength has been externally verified by the analysts at AKG.
